Trail  Description

Winchester trails are used primarily by mtn. bikers  and motorized trail bikers.  The trails challenge even the best of riders.  There are lots of ruts, roots,  steeps and other obstacles on the 30 miles of winding singletrack.

The  trail system is a web of trails which can be ridden alone or linked with  gravel roads.  Use map to  explore or follow markers.  Some suggested rides include Hanz and Franz (both start at the  parking lot and receive more maintenance). Also, there is a mountain bike  race held here every September.  The course starts on Hanz then goes to Franz, 102, Westside Rd.,  WipeCo., Ridge Rd., Elk Point, Skyline, Winchester Rd., and reverse way on  Hanz to finish.

Note-  some trails are directional (ridden one-way).

Please don’t ride the trails when  wet-Thanks

Winchester Trails were  built and are maintained by the South Coast Trail Riders (motorcycle)  Assoc. The land the trails are on is owned by Coos County and managed by  their Forestry Dept.
